Privacy policy

The short version: Wordpup has no account and no sign-in. Your games, practice words, Pip's Trail and your dares stay on your device. We don't show ads, and we don't track you.

What stays on your device

Your rounds, scores, best runs, practice list, trail steps, titles and the dares you send or receive are saved in the app on your iPhone. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them (a copy in your iCloud stays only if you turned on iCloud sync).

Optional iCloud sync

If you turn on iCloud sync in the app's Settings, a copy of your rounds, practice words, trail steps, dares and best scores is kept in your own iCloud account by Apple (iCloud key-value storage), so your devices can share it. We can't see what is stored there. Turning sync off stops it; Settings → Reset everything can also clear the copy your other devices use. Apple's privacy policy covers iCloud.

Optional Game Center

After your first round you can sign in to Apple's Game Center. If you do, Wordpup sends it your score for each day's first finished daily (to a friends-only board) and the achievements you earn. Apple handles Game Center under its own privacy policy; we never see your Game Center account. If you don't sign in, nothing is sent and the game works the same.

Local play counts

To learn whether people enjoy coming back, the app keeps a few plain counts on your device only — rounds started and finished and why they ended, which button you tapped after a round, dares opened and finished, purchases, and rounds per day. They carry no identifier of any kind, they are never sent anywhere, and you can see every number in Settings → Export my data. Reset everything clears them.

Optional feedback

If you choose to send feedback or report a word, we receive what you send: your message (and an email address only if you type one), and for a word report the word, the reason, an optional note and the word-list version. Each comes with the app version and build number, the iOS version, the device type, your language and region setting, whether Plus is on and a random install number that is not tied to your name or Apple ID, so a reviewer can tell reports apart and a reply can reach you. We use it only to improve Wordpup. You never have to send anything, and nothing is sent until you tap Send or Report.

Purchases

Wordpup Plus is a one-time purchase handled by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or Apple ID details. The app only learns whether Plus is unlocked.

Friend dares and the web player

A dare is a link. It carries only what makes the board and what the sender chooses to share: the mode, the rules and word-list version, the board's starting word and number, the score to beat and, if the sender adds one, a first name. Anyone who has the link can read those. Nothing else is uploaded — there is no dare server.

The web player at wordpup.aiappnation.com runs in your browser. It keeps your own first result for each dare and the name you last used in your browser's storage, on your device only. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no ads, and it loads its fonts and word lists from this site only.

Like any website, our web host keeps standard access logs (IP address, time and the address requested, which can include a dare link) to run and protect the site.

Children

Wordpup is rated 9+. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
